Let me echo Jon's comment with my own personal example. My tenure-track career was largely the result of Jon reaching out to his network and our mutual connection with a Dean at the University of Arizona. The human network alleviated many concerns. ------------------------------ Michael McVey Professor Eastern Michigan University Ypsilanti MI +1 (734) 487-2760 ------------------------------

Hope this is helpful! ------------------------------ Lisa Vernon-Dotson Dean, College of Education [More]

Send the posting to folks whose judgment you trust and ask them to think about who would be right for the job. As far as selecting the right people: Crowdsource. Ask for as many people's opinions as possible about candidates and listen to what they have to say. EVERYONE who interacts with a candidate should have an opportunity to give [More]
